Industrial PhD Fellowship from Royal Commission of 1851 now open for applications

Applications for the prestigious Royal Commission of 1851 industrial fellowships 2016 are now open and will close on 28 January.

The Commission is particularly keen to help SMEs and start-ups carry out innovative research and develop new IP with fellowships worth up to £80,000 over three years, including a generous travel allowance.

Open to company employees within 5 years of graduation or those  in 1st or 2nd year of a CASE or CDT PhD programme.  For employees 50% salary and University fees paid, for CDT / CASe enhance stipend plus generous travel. £10k honorarium to hosting University department on completion.  Full conditions.

Photonics applications have been very successful in the past and more applications from the sector are encouraged in this the International Year of Light.
