The interactive photonics landscape tool from the Knowledge Transfer Network shows where many UK photonics companies are located and which markets/applications they are focused on. Searchable by region and application, this tool gives insights into the breadth of applications addressed by UK photonics and distribution of companies around the UK.
Note The landscape includes a sample of ~50% of companies active in photonics and is constrained to assigning only a single market/ application area to each company. The enabling nature of photonics means many organisations are active in multiple applications, meaning in the landscaping represents the lower bound of activity and the number of firms supplying any specific market is significantly higher than shown.
