The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training  in Applied Photonics and its predecessors has been funded by EPSRC and Industry since 2001 and is the UK’s longest running Centre for Doctoral Training in Photonics. The Centre is a partnership between the Universities of Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Strathclyde and St Andrews and is led by Heriot-Watt University.

Complementing the academic consortium are over 35 industrial partners, who contribute financial support to the Centre as well as substantial levels of supervisor time and practical resources sustaining over 50 EngD and PhD projects.
