To Express your Interest in participating in developing the National Photonics Roadmap, please complete the on-line expression of interest. Invitations to participate in the in-person workshop will be drawn from those completing the EoI, subject to constraints of the venue, balance of contributions and discretion of our government partners.
Following the Council for Science and Technology (CST) recommendation to ‘develop a national photonics roadmap …. to better coordinate funding, leverage existing clusters and build on technological strengths‘ the PLG has been working with government and the IOP to facilitate the process.
We will shortly be opening an online consultation to capture community views on the opportunities for UK photonics to impact the downstream sectors vital to the UK’s interest over the next ten years and the associated blockers and enablers. The online consultation will be followed by an in-person workshop in May to refine initial inputs.
The Roadmap will seek to outline the key external drivers impacting the UK photonics industry, the industrial opportunities these generate, their alignment with the UK industry strategy and UK strengths and the enabler / barriers.
