The Photonics21 Board of Stakeholder election will be open 21 October to 4 November 2025. A number of the current UK members of the Board of Stakeholders will be up for re-election this year and need your vote to continue to represent your interests in the design and scope of European photonics funding.
With the UK fully able to participate in the current Horizon Europe funding programme and indications that the UK will associate to future programs, it is vital that our voice is present to ensure programs are are optimised for UK participation and to continue to raise awareness with our European colleagues of the benefits of having a UK partner in some of the most influential photonics collaborations opening the way to new products and innovation.
To vote you must register in advance on the Board of Stakeholder election portal by the 20 September 2025. Details of those seeking election will be posted on the portal, but only after registration to vote has closed.
Photonics21 are also seeking additional nominations to the Board of Stakeholders from industry. If you represent an industrial organisation please apply on the P21 election portal by 20 September. Self nominations are welcome.
The next European framework program is likely to see significant change, with an enhanced role for the next EU chips act in photonics programmes. Participating in Photonics21 is an ideal way to gain early visibility of these changes and influence their direction and impact. The PLG encourage active participation in the Photonics21 workgroup most relevant to your organisation.
