Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre opens in Torbay

The opening of the new Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC) in Torbay was celebrated at an event on 19 September attended by Sarah Wollaston, MP, local Councillor Swithin Long, business and academic leaders. Welcomed by Alan Denby, Director of Economic Strategy at Torbay Development Agency, EPIC demonstrates strong support for photonics as an engine for future growth in the area.

The impressive £8M facility with dry labs, offices, cleanroom and a prototyping suite and will be a focal point for the region’s electronics and photonics cluster, providing ready to use facilities for growing and new photonics and microelectronics companies. With impressive views of the ocean, the centre now fully open and has three businesses already fully operational from the centre.
