The first satellite launch from the UK will take place in summer 2022 as Prometheus-2 is launched from Cornwall’s space port carried on Virgin Orbit’s Launcher One rocket.
Prometheus-2 will contain two UK built cube stats, with multiple photonic instruments including:-
- a hyperspectral imager and laser detector to capture multiple slivers of pictures over different wavelengths of light for higher definition images and
- two optical imaging cameras and a laser range finder to view both the earth what else is orbiting the planet.
