The PLG welcomes Innovate UK’s publication of its Net zero review 2022: our clean future economy
Photonics has a key role in delivering net zero, uniquely impacting all three key axis of energy generation, energy consumption and materials use / waste. The PLG have been driving consideration of all the areas photonics impacts Net Zero though multiple presentations and panels in 2022.
Although many sustainability targets are decades into the future, the drive to Net Zero is already having an impact on research, innovation and industrial behaviour. The photonics industry and it’s innovators look forward to working with Innovate UK to accelerate progress to Net Zero both using the latest photonics technology and within the production and application of photonics.
