House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee inquiry into FCOs role in providing guidence on foreign takeovers.

The House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee is conducting an inquiry into the role of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in providing guidence on UK Government decisions on intervening in foreign takeovers that may result in signficant incluence of change of control.

“The Committee will also focus on what safeguards are required in the forthcoming National Security and Investment Bill to ensure that the FCO has a full role in the decision-making process in relation to interventions”

The PLG encourages interested parties, espceially those following the progress of National Security and Investment Bill, to submit comment to the call for evidence for the inquiry by the 14 September 2020 deadline.
